...some days I wonder how I can have so much love for a show that hasn't passed the Bechdel test once in nine episodes, but then I just go back to flailing (and to be fair, they do have amazing women who get a decent amount of agency... mostly). I also don't know HOW it's possible to be in this fandom and not love Elizabeth, because she is just light-years beyond awesome,

OK, I'm not sure if they just have a geek writing the scripts or if they're actually trying to make Neal a geek, but 1.06 really makes me happy. So far Neal has made reference to Gremlins ("Don't get 'em wet, don't feed 'em after midnight"), comic books (a 'red lantern' "could be a sunburned superhero"), and Indiana Jones (Neal: "I think I just saw the Ark of the Covenant back there." / Peter: "If my face melts, let me know.").

...it doesn't take a lot to make me happy, no.

(ps I totally deserve to be re-watching back eps because I wrote nearly 2k words this week, with jetlag thank you very much, and now I'm tired. And also I have fic to write for the Sex is Not the Enemy ficathon if I ever get it figured out.)
