Eye of hte Gorgon Part II, wherein Greek myth is horribly misused and yet I like it anyways!

( I can't get over how this show manages to be good kiddie fun and yet does almost everything SJ-related that I want it to. )

OH GOD SARAH JANE. SARAH JANE IS AWESOME LIKE BURNING.

OK, so, I went into the first ep of Torchwood hoping it would be awesome, and it was, you know, it was good, there were some good parts, but it wasn't as awesome as I'd hoped.

I went into Sarah Jane Adventures crossing my fingers and toes and hoping against hope that it would be good, because it could be great, I knew it could… and oh, it was FABULOUS. OK, there were, like, two bits I didn't like, but neither of them were really about SJ, so. LOVE.

I cannot BELIEVE we have to wait to get more of this. It made me giddy and gleeful and even more in love with the fabulous Sarah Jane who keeps cacti probably because she's afraid she'd kill anything else (which should make things… interesting…). And they call this a kids' show. Hmf. ;)

Yes, I totally forwent watching the last two eps of Torchwood in favour of this. I have no regrets, despite the fact that I might not get to watch TW till *gasp* tomorrow. Oh, this having-a-life thing, it gets so in the way.

I have absolutely no shame over being more squeeful about an upcoming kiddie show than I have been about Torchwood (except Suzie for she is the best of them all). Seriously. Sarah Jane Adventures is going to be the most fabulous thing, as evidenced by the clip that was on Blue Peter today (which I NEED TO SEE SOMEONE MUST UPLOAD). So. ( Spoilers and a pic under the cut. )

Now we know why Sarah can't dress herself. She's too busy concentrating on accessorizing. ;)

So word on Outpost Gallifrey is that there's another Who spinoff in the works: Sarah Jane Investigates. The catch (aka why I'm not all over your flist with squee)? It's rumoured for CBBC.

I don't want a kiddie Sarah Jane show. *g*

Well, ok, yes, I'll take any amount of Lis Sladen the BBC wants to put on my TV screen, but come on. Why don't they just put her on Torchwood? That way they avoid the too-many-spinoffs syndrome and Jack can flirt shamelessly with her! Come on, Beeb, there is no bad here. (I'd even take a regular guest star role on TW as opposed to a regular... I'm easy...)

On the plus side, I am ridiculously pleased that the BBC recognise that everyone loves Sarah Jane.

eta: I just noticed that RTD is supposed to be writing this. Does he write for kids? *g* That... almost makes me feel better, since I'm assuming that one way or the other there will be less Crazy Shippiness in something like this, and I do (mostly) like Rusty's writing outside that. Although I should never assume, because he did bring the Doctor/Sarah shippy.
