Behind the cut is the only piece of Who that surprised me in a good way (by which I mean, none of my friends seriously called it well in advance and I don't want to have Rusty drawn and quartered for it). Which is not to say that the internets as a whole didn't call it. We just didn't beleive it would actually happen.

...so Lucy is a Time Lady? I'm not going to say Romana only because I DON'T WANT RUSTY TO FUCK HER UP. Either that or she... killed the Master in order to bring him back later? Which makes some sense, but actually makes more sense than I would generally associate with vapid Lucy who shares the Master's brand of madness so well. I mean, the chameleon arch artefacts don't seem to work like horcruxes - you can't have more than one at the same time, and you can only set them up through that particular machine. And that ring was clearly on the Master's hand when he was Saxon. So it can't be him in it, can it.

Not that I expect Rusty to maintain internal consistency or anything. But looking at it logically, that cannot possibly be the Master's method of returning. We'll see if our puny earth logic holds out. ;)

OK, the only local fen I know are only just watching the ep and I'm going to get the downstairs neighbours pounding on the ceiling if I continue to shout "WHAT" like I'm doing a Tennant. Wanna discuss? Give me a ring, my number is friendslocked here (international calls are cool too). I may just explode in the meantime.

The Master was asking to be killed at the end of the episode. Like, a lot. Maybe he turned himself into a human and put his personality in the ring as an escape plan, and didn't regenerate because he actually couldn't, because he was human.

I haven't seen the old show. Is the picture on the ring significant?

What makes you think it's Romana?

I'm sure they could retain their memories if they wanted to. It's just that the Doctor didn't that time in order to protect himself.

Also there was laughing at the end that sounded like the Master, so I took that to mean he's still around and could come back.

Also, the length of time between seasons is kind of ridiculous, and I'll have forgotten all about all this by the time it's on again. ;)

Was saxon wearing two rings? because I made a post about his ring Here http://fred-god-of.livejournal.com/24027.html#cutid1 and it was all timelordy, but in a diffrent way.

ah-ha! you have much more brains then me.

But still made of awesome that it looks like the seal of Rassilon. The prop department has come a long way from wobbly sets and bubble wrap.

THANK you for the close-up on the ring. I spent two episodes TRYING desperately to get a good look at it.

Wanted to say "hi" and that I've now (finally) friended you--it was about time; too much in common what with SJS and [livejournal.com profile] ladyvivien and DW and Yuletide and such.

Hullo!

I figured that Lucy was being used still more to prepare for the Master's return by retrieving the ring, by carrying part of his consciousness, something.

It never occurred to me that she could be a Time Lady (especially since her Earth paperwork seemed to render her real and human according to Smart!Reporter!Lady. If she were a Time Lady...I'm thinking Rani instead of Romana; I can't see Romana working with or for the Master, even if she has A Plan.

It'll be interesting to see what they do.

[livejournal.com profile] ladyvivien has spoken very highly of you and it's just great to find more Lis Love wherever it is.
