tellitslant: agatha making a shushing gesture (doctor - romana III)

At some point, someone needs to remind me of the post I want to make about re-watching "Rose" and "The Time Warrior" in rapid succession. Tellingly, I keep not making it because the actual important bits of "Rose" keep slipping out of my head. Heh.

As for "Love and Monsters" - well, LOVE. It is not surprising that I enjoyed an ep where Rose was onscreen for all of, oh, five minutes. Although wow, I adored the beginning and the homage to the old slapsticks and all. That was fabulous.

JACKIE. I love Jackie so very much. Jackie being left all alone at home, woes. I need a Jackie icon. JACKIE HAD BETTER NOT DIE, is all I'm saying.

I enjoyed this one so much, overall. The actual alien was a bit crap, but LINDA and all the cute fannish references were great, not to mention the actual textual level where it's kind of neat to see the Doctor having an impact on peoples' lives.

I am trying to figure out of there is significance to the fact that everyone who knows about the Doctor knows about Rose too. And given how easy it was ot track her down... well, I don't know what I'm getting at. But it's interesting. Anyways. Random thoughts.

[livejournal.com profile] tellitslant: ...wow, hello foreshadowing.
[livejournal.com profile] cherryice: I don't know if that's a shadow.
[livejournal.com profile] cherryice: I think it's more of an eclipse.
[livejournal.com profile] tellitslant: It is a Living Shadow. It escaped and runs around smacking people on the head with anvils.
