WOW this ep of The Good Wife was cinematographically a love letter to their first season, wasn't it? That final scene - Alicia at the podium - was framed and cut perfectly to echo her standing there with Peter in the first episode. I love how smart this show is, I love it.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like this ep did Kalinda a disservice, rolling back to s1 characterization while ignoring a lot of her arc since. :/

Date: 2014-10-21 05:39 am (UTC)When I first realised that they were going to show us something from Elsbeth's point of view that was going to explain what was going on in her head, I had this weird flash of disappointment, because I didn't want that magical thing explained, especially in a way that made her seem wacky and not in control of it.
She's openly thrilled to see Alicia, and Alicia uses what she understands about Elsbeth without thinking twice, because she's not like that any more.

Date: 2014-10-22 05:57 am (UTC)I can't decide what I thought of the Elsbeth's head thing! On the one hand, I liked the way she used it, but on the other it was a little trite. But on the other other hand it's still not clear exactly how it works, which is nice? Sigh.
