Very very brief Good Wife catch-up-y bits (with excessive capslock):

ELSPETH ELSPETH ELSPETH LOVE HER. I really adore that we get these wacky and mildly abnormal characters and they're allowed to be just as competent as their more polished and perfectionistic counterparts - if not more so. There's no single way to do something right in this universe. And I just adore that she buttonholes Wendy Scott-Carr at an event with her children, which is something it would be very different/difficult to get away with with a man.

I also FUCKING LOVE what we get of Diane in this ep. This highly cultured woman, who's hanging out at a museum, but who is clearly shown to have an affinity for the rougher guys, and who isn't penalized for that. She's almost played as a maternal figure here, with Eli accusing her of trying to run the firm like a family and then that delightful shot at the end with her calling Eli and David Lee on the carpet/couch, positioned so she just looms over them in an adult/child manner. And then that's undercut by bringing the process server back and highlighting her sexuality again. Awesome. AWESOME. Also, I adore her outfits. And if I'm not mistaken, wardrobe has made a point of giving her rotating pieces of jewellery, so we see she has favourites. :D SHOW.

KALINDA. You can see my badge any time, Kalinda. *waggles eyebrows*

HO SHIT THEY'RE DOING A GOLD FARMING EPISODE. THIS SHOW. WHAT EVEN. I EFFING LOVE IT.

"You might try Decodeacon. ...What, it's not on your social calendar?" *dies* DIANE ILU.

Marrr, I adore that Kalinda and Will are FRIENDS NOW Lookit them be all friendly in the... um, parking lot.

BWAHAHAHA. KALINDA VERSUS THE BOOTH BABES.

Oh man, OH MAN, and now Kalinda has to choose between Alicia and Will. AAAAHHHH. (Also, love this show's continuity.)

Hahahaha. OH JACKIE. (also, tsk Zach, using your dad's bachelor apartment as a love nest is a little creepy.)

Kalinda: You want to know when you cut your losses.
Diane: No. I want to know when to help.
*dies* I LOVE THESE TWO WOMEN. AND THEIR DIFFERENCES. AND THEIR WORKING TOGETHER. (I also love Kalinda's face looking at Elspeth. HA.)

Does every woman Kalinda meets flirt with her? I mean, not that it's unbelievable, but, hee.

BWAHAHAHA. Oh ZACH, goddamn, YOU ARE YOUR FATHER'S SON. Jesus CHRIST. Way to use Jackie against Alicia. I love this show. Seriously though, are the writers children of divorce?

AUGH KALINDA WHAT ARE YOU DOING. This had better be a double-cross. ACK. WHEN IS THE NEXT EPISODE.

God, going from watching season 1 Stargate to watching The Good Wife is complete mental whiplash. Whoa, good writing, what a concept. :P But seriously, this SHOW, I love everything it chooses to be, and it chooses to be everything that I love.

When Temple told me to start watching tGW, I'll admit I looked at her oddly. Then I watched an ep. Then two. Then two seasons and caught up. There is something fabulous about the way this show embraces female sexuality as a tool of power (not a weapon, mind, but power) and allows these women - and men, frankly - to be competent over and above appearance. And that the writers are so remarkably in time with all sorts of aspects of culture and willing to write complex, season long story arcs like it's nothing.

Odd note: they cast Zach really well - I can actually see Peter in his facial structure, as he gets older.
