Under the cut: discussion of costume-spoilery set pics that have been surfacing from the filming of (apparently) 6x13 and that may be of interest to those of us who have been invested in the linearity of the River/Doctor relationship.



This is going to be the least-spoilery spoiler discussion ever, but I just had a thought, and had to share.

There are two sets of pics going around from 6x13. One bunch have River in her fatigues from 5x04. One bunch have her in the dress from 6x02. I have two thoughts about this fact.

First, this CLEARLY makes the directly inverse relationship thing TOTALLY WRONG. Second, this potentially makes the whole back-to-front thing an actual plot point, and THAT'S why they've been harping on it so much.

Am I right, or am I missing something?

They do keep pushing the back-to-front relationship thing, which has been making me wonder if there was some plot involved in that.

It would make me extremely happy if we get to find out why River was running around in the amazing evening dress just before Canton catches up with her.

I'm definitely thinking it's a real plot point, but, just to argue devil's advocate, have they're actually been scenes shot with her in those outfits and the Doctor there as well? I know at least for the spoilers with the byzantium fatigues she was seen with Amy but in a non-Doctory context...that is possibly in a different reality or time stream or something. (I don't want to say too much because...Spoilers.)

I'm really HOPING it's a big plot point because I recently rewatched part of the Library episodes and nothing she says makes any sense if it's literally back to front. It just actually, actively, makes no sense the way she says it.

Also, oooh, can you link to the set pic of her in that dress? Because that's one I haven't seen, though I have seen the one in the fatigues. And, without spoiling too much because I know you like to toe the line on that, what cassi0pei4 says is correct - it was a scene with Amy, so like, it's possible that she sees Amy out of order but not the Doctor? Though that seems to be splitting hairs.

But yes, after trying VERY HARD to minimise my expectations based on some stuff I didn't like, I'm now...getting very badly hooked into hoping again.
