Right, so, on the 12th I'm heading up to London for the Sarah Jane Adventures BFI preview event. They're showing the ep with the big honking spoiler in the title (though I'm assuming most people on my flist know already, haha), which is also the ep where Jo Grant returns.

I have seen shamefully little of Jo's original appearances. I'm obviously going to watch her final ep, but oh wise Whovians, which others should I see? What is quintessential Jo? What will encapsulate her for me as much as possible? *g*

I have to pop in to the BL while I'm in town, so I will probably come in after my training course, which ends at noon. So those of you who are not dedicated SJA fans, if anyone's free for coffee or something after, say 2ish, let me know?

Oooh, there's a preview where they're showing that episode and YOU GET TO GO???? Wow! *is officially very jealous and very excited for you*

I haven't seen all of Jo's episodes, but out of what I've seen, I'd say that Jo's last episode is a very good one for getting to know her character, so yes, definitely watch it, and I'd also recommend "Frontier in Space." "Planet of the Daleks" has some pretty good Jo moments too, but overall I didn't like it as much as "Frontier."

Sorry, I've been away.

There's a moment in the final episode of The Green Death, when the Doctor realises that he's effectively been supplanted in Jo's affections by a hippy do-gooder which, for this old Whovian, makes an utter nonsense of all the Rusty and post-Rusty clumsy, sham, enforced relationship nonsense. Pertwee crammed his entire acting career into that scene, and it's a doozy.

*Ahem.*

Anyway... Thoughts on the pilot episode of Abrams' Undercovers?

Oh, and The Day of the Daleks is worth a look, as Jo is particularly spunky (in a slightly misguided way) in that one.
