Things to which I hope my flist may be able to point me:

- a downloadable version of the Killa & T. Jonesy Kirk/spock vid to "Closer" or a place where I could find such - I'll use the YouTube version if need be, but would prefer a decent version

- a discussion, either online or not, of the generally accepted fannish progression from K/S and zines to, well, today.

One day I may learn to do my own research. Today is not that day. ;)

How about the first trailer for the new Indy instead?

*Nods.*

I am, to coin a phrase, as giddy as a schoolboy.

I know that Killa has a web site where she hosts them. You have to e-mail her to get the password.

Killa actually took all her vids offline after Closer leaked. I'm sure she would send you the file if you asked.

I also have Closer, so if you have trouble let me know and I could pass it along.

there are lots of problems with the fan history wiki (http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/Main_Page), but if you just need any old source it (or even regular Wikipedia) might be useful. the other discussions I can think of are in books. Francesca Coppa's introduction, "A Short History of Media Fandom," in Fan Fiction and Fan Communities in the Age of the Internet is excellent. Textual Poachers and Camille Bacon-Smith's ethnography Enterprising Women have more detailed accounts of the earlier eras.
