OK, so, I loved it right up until "And then I had a dream." Because, um, that was kind of - how should I say - RIDICULOUSLY STUPID. Like half the eps this season where the last five pages of script should have been tossed. I didn't mind the Doctor going back to say goodbye, because, after all, isn't that what Sarah taught him? But the emo!tears and almost!love were, um, yeah, we're back to RIDICULOUSLY STUPID here, aren't we. Because it should have been "I love you Doctor!" "Quite right too. Goodbye, Rose Tyler." That would have worked.

Actually, ok, not true. A lot of the emotional impact of the Rose Must Go scene was spoiled by "And now he has me zomg!!1" where I was just thinking "Shut. The fuck. Up. Rose." But, wow, I really was totally taken by the "my hands are slipping" bit - and to have Pete show up, yeah, I'm sorry, I loved it. I would have loved it more character-wise had she actually grown up and moved on and left of her own accord, but in terms of dramatic tension, it really worked for me.

ANYWAYS, more important things, like say JACKIE. Jackie who did not die! Jackie who is beyond fabulous! Jackie who has never loved anyone but Pete! (I just about died at Mickey and the Doctor's reaction to that. HEEE.) See, this, this scene, this is where I got all sniffly at. Although I kind of died laughing that Jackie and Pete are having another kid. Hee. JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE I AM GOING TO MISS YOU SOOOO. *hearts*

And Yvonne! *whimper* That was brilliant, I'm sorry, I don't care if it was stupid and fanficcy and probably totally against all Cybercanon ever BUT I LOVED IT. Yvonne walking head-up into the Cybermen thing. Oh. *loves*

So, idle question, how did the Void suck in the newly made Cybermen? I guess you could argue that the suits were brought through the void and so they had Dust on them. Speaking of Dust and Voids between Worlds and all that rot. Philip Pullman - and whichever movie company is doing The Golden compass - must either be tearing his hair out or cashing a very nice cheque about now, no?

Um. So there is Time Lord shit still out there. Floating around. Good to know. So they can bring back Romana.

Yeah. I was sucked in by it, which means it was pretty decent TV. And even Rose was pretty decent right up till the end there. Giving the Daleks shit and all that, that worked nicely. It was just the emo!Rose who learned nothing that kind of got me.

And even though it was cheap and cheesy and crap in execution, I am glad that RTD didn't actually have the Doctor say "I love you."

In conclusion, Doctor/Runaway Bride OTP?
