OK, embarassing admssion, first. I spent the afternoon in the kitchen with my mom making some amazing food (that is not the embarrassing part) and watching Food Network (also not the embarrassing part), and... I accidentally started mentally writing Iron Chef America femslash (that's the embarrassing part). I couldn't help it! One of the regular judges is a total fangirl of one of the chefs and... yeah. *facepalm* Apparently I do have shame left.
Anyways. It's a bad night when True Blood is my less embarrassing pastime. (Speaking of, I cannot get over thinking, every time I watch the show, that they really need to give the guest actors longer to get used to the fangs. They don't quite all lisp, but there is definitely some awkwardness there, and I for one find it hilarious.) Man, do I ever love Tara and her self-taught ethos. I don't think I actually want her to get together with Jason - it can only end bad, he is just too dumb - but I hope they get to interact more. Also, I was very pleased that we got to see Eric (and Pam, who is kind of creepily hot). I love how ridiculous this show is willing to be, too. I mean, when they go for low comedy, they go all the way. And yet it wasn't stupid, so props to the writers for making Jason's ten-hour hard-on amusing. ;)
And Anna Paquin continues to wear amazingly hot outfits on a regular basis. I so, so, so approve.
And, impressively, Gossip Girl was totally back on form this week, IMHO. I didn't even hate Jenny for most of it(though I did want to smack her a bit at the end). I am a big fan of Lily s Deep Dark Secret, though (and the fact that she posed for Mapplethorpe? Pretty damn awesome). Dan writing about "Charlie Trout" (oh, Dan) was hilarious and I was hoping that the two would actually develop some kind of a friendship, for a couple episodes at least, because the interplay was pretty enjoyable. Blair looked seriously smoking in most of the ep - she was no longer wearing capes or anything else ridiculous, thank god - and I have high hopes that the Poppy-Serena-Blair triangle will lead to some good drama. Oh, and, gratuitous Brighton reference FTW! ;) Win overall, I think.
I also watched and really enjoyed the Desperate Housewives premiere, but I refuse to pick up another show. REFUSE. Do not tempt me, anyone.
