My very dear Yuletide Writer! Let me blather on at you about what I like!

I like awesome women being awesome. You may pick up on this based on my requests. *g* The canons I'm interested in here have done such amazing jobs giving us strong, flawed, interesting, multi-faceted women that I just want more of all of them.

I like dark fic and happy fic, sexy fic and gen fic, backstory and future-fic, as long as it is in character and in keeping with the feel of the canon. (I mean, you can do happy fic in Secret Six, but it's a very different kind of happy, you know?)

I have tried to give several varied suggestions of what I might want to see in each fandom; what I don't want is a fic that tried to cram them all together into one by flitting about from scenario to scenario. I would much rather see one idea developed than see someone try to pack everything into a thousand words!

I love stories that flesh out moments in canon, giving us a look at the background we knew was there. I like plot. I like getting to know more about characters who have fascinated me for some reason, and findint out why and how they fascinate other people. But mostly, I like that you're writing a story about one of these texts that I love, and that it's for me!



Batwoman: Kate Kane and Maggie Sawyer
One of the things I love most about Batwoman is that Rucka goes to such trouble to mirror the structure of Batman's universe while simultaneously building a predominantly queer family for Kate. Sure, her Alfred-equivalent is her father, but her Leslie-equivalent is Mallory, who's probably queer; her Catwoman-equivalent (sometimes partners, sometimes disapproving) is Renee; and her Jim Gordon-equivalent is Maggie.

I would love to see a Kate-and-Maggie relationship that deals with the layers of Kate's dual identity, or a Maggie story that looks at her relationship with/thoughts about Batwoman, or something where Renee comes back and finds Kate dating Maggie, or something about Kate not dating Maggie because of their interactions as Batwoman, orrrrr something else along these lines about these two lovely characters!

I will read Batwoman #0 pretty much as soon as it comes out, so if there ends up being something in there that you want to incorporate, please feel free.

Hope Springs: Ellie Lagden
Like I said, I haven't finished watching Hope Springs, but I will have done by reveal time, I promise! I started watching it because of my sheer overwhelming love for Alex Kingston; I fell for it because it's all about women being amaaaazing. Ellie is my favourite, but I adore Hannah and Josie as well (not so big a fan of Shoo, heh).

I'd love to see something about the creation of the entire plot - backstory in the prison or some such. I think it would be interesting to explore the possibilities of women's-prison femslash (is it just me?), or post-show femslash, or during-the-show femslash - the closeness the women demonstrate could easily be taken a step further. Ellie gen would also be awesome - exploring her feelings about her position as 'leader' of the gang, maybe? If the end of the show leaves interesting options open for an Ellie (or Ellie slash) piece, please go there, too!

I don't have a Hope Springs tag, but my Alex Kingston tag (which includes a lot of Doctor Who squee, yes, but other stuff too) is and hearts: hello sweetie.

Secret Six: Scandal Savage and Jeannette
Okay, if you don't read Gail Simone's tumblr (YOU SHOULD), she has said that Jeannette is bisexual, that she and Scandal had a relationship, and that the relationship ended because the two of them made better friends than lovers. I SO want to see this explored! I would also love a look at Jeannette's past with the Amazons - her antagonistic relationship with Artemis in particular just screams backstory. If you wanted to explore something else about Jeannette's past I would also enjoy that; I just find her so psychologically fascinating!

I am up to date on SS, so no spoiler worries.

The Good Wife: Kalinda Sharma, Alicia Florrick
KALINDA. I adore her and her super-secret past and her sneakiness and, you know. Everything about her.

I desperately want to see takes on her backstory! I would particularly enjoy a look at her relationship with Donna - how they met, how it developed, how it ended, stuff like that. I also think that Kalinda has a giant crush on Alicia and would love to see that explored - either into an actual relationship, somehow, or in an unrequited way, or anything you want to do with it!

Kalinda gen is also awesome - backstory about how she came to be part of the firm (which partner hired her?), or a look at her antagonistic relationship with Blake, or something else to give us a glimpse into that mysterious past of hers... it's all good!
