tellitslantAck I have to be on campus (for a stupid stupid meeting ugh) right away and I wanted to just be all YAY THE GOOD WIFE HERE IS MY FAVOURITE THING FROM THIS EP, but it turns out I have like eight billion favourite things EACH EP so here is a quick rundown behind the tag because I am SO EXCITED this show is back.
Okay, my 100% favourite thing probably mostly okay really is that we got that fabulous scene where Peter came and watched Alicia kick ass in court - which she did - and then it was deliberately set up to emphasize the fact that a woman beng competent and good at her job and strong was sexy. That just sums up a lot of what I love about the show, and not just because I apparently ship Alicia/Peter, but because it's about where the power balance in the show is. And too, it wasn't, "You're so amazing I must put my penis in you and possess you" sex, it was, "Watching you made me so hot, let me go down on you and make you feel good" sex - like, seriously, THIS SHOW. THIS IS WHY I LOVE IT.
Except for my second 100% favourite thing, which was Kalinda getting all up in the grill of whatshisface who I will never not be able to think of as Jason from FNL. Love. Love love loooove. I can't wait to see more of them. I imagine Kalinda is student of some obscure and extrmely painful martial art like Krav Maga and is going to bring the pain at some point soon, though not until after we have to watch her be outmaneuvered a little bit so she doesn't turn into a Mary Sue. Which will also be interesting.
Also, Will and Diane plotting how to act about the merger rather than there being some actual backstabbing going on (although the suggestion of potential upset to come was also good).

Kalinda tracking down the paranoid and using her delusions against her was also amazing.
And I absolutely love that Jackie and the Ladies' Auxiliary (who still operate on a blackballing system, amaaaazing) are being made so important to the campaign etc. It's just another example of the "behind every man" women being drawn out into wielding the real power in so many ways.
HOW IS THIS SHOW ON MY SCREEN, IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
