OMG. So. I went on a mission today and found the comics store in town (and it's really really nice), and I was very good and almost didn't buy anythung that isn't directly realted to something I want to do a paper on (almost).
But.
There is a Battlestar Pegasus oneshot out.
And it's all about, you'll never guess - how Helena has daddy issues and always knew her father wanted a son and, seriously, the phrase "I always felt I had to apologise for my gender" shows up in there, and, omg. Yeah. i mean, it's good, but I'm just a little in shock at level of wtf.
And if there are serious daddy issues, then again I'm brought back to that whole thing with "young Helena" in the credits of Razor, which I guess is something we're going to get to actually see in the uncut DVD edition (which I may end up buying, seriously, on my way home form the airport in December). Because the only place for there to have been a young Helena is, I think, in the hybrid camp that Adama finds (which means, unless she's really wee, their timing is way off, because isn't that supposed to be forty years ago? yeah, she's forty maybe), and I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. So. Anyways. Interesting.
I'm not entirely sure where it is in the timeline - pre-series in any event - and I need to figure that out too. It's really, really interesting and a good bit of backstory for when I eventually get a chance to write about Cain, so, yes. I thought buying comics in general made me gleeful, but buying them in order to study them actually is even more with the fabulous.
