Eeee, Alicia and Kalinda are so delightfully awkward and yet trying to work together and eeeeee.

Alicia looks GREAT. Also I am enjoying her being so incendiary in court. She's growing up!

I can't decide whether to feel bad for Peter or not. I mean. He does kind of think he is the wronged one here.

I love - I LOVE - that Alicia's sex scenes in this show are all about female empowerment. OH MY GOD. I mean, yes, that's HOT, but it's also so important! This scene with Will, the movement into the hotel, even the early s2 scene between her and Peter are all focussed on Alicia getting off and or taking control of the situation, and it's SO WELL DONE.

(...and so, so hot.)

So enjoying the Kalinda-Sophia interaction. LOVE.

Oh god, first separated weekend at the other parent's being used for a booty call and ALICIA DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF HERSELF. Wow. Wow this show is good. Because that could so easily just have been like, okay, the kids are gone let's have sex, but there should be all those emotions there and there are and that is why it's so amazing.

I kind of feel like I should capslock less about The Good Wife, because... it's such an excellent and adult show. But I am basically just full of squee and love and joy about it. Holy shit so good.

Oh, yes, I did enjoy that. In fact, I enjoyed it even more the second time, actually (there are always certain minor legal plot points that I don't quite get the first time around, and they become clear on second viewing).

I liked pretty much everything: the added Eli, the sexy bits, the fact that they're going to pretend not to be continuing to have sex, Cary and Peter teaming up and Cary being all sneaky and badass, and Kalinda teaming up with Sophia of all people. But the best part was the new Alicia. I am going to love her this season (not that I didn't already love her, of course, but STILL).

Is it next week yet? ;)

I may be totally in left field on this, but I actually think she's a love interest. I think they're going to make Grace queer--there have been a couple of false alarms on that, but I think they're going to do it. And I think Alicia is going to freak out about it and have to deal with her hypocricy. Wouldn't that be an awesome storyline, at least potentially?

That is exactly what I think. As does most of my twitter feed. :D I think it'll be really fascinating if they go that route because we'll also get the political reaction - how Peter deals with it and or how it gets spun - and we'll get Alicia's brother back and possibly deep (or, well, as deep as they get) conversations with Kalinda. I don't know where else they could really be going with it, either, so I am encouraged by how many people are on the same wavelength!

I totally thought that as well. And was a little disappointed bc I was bored stiff by the son's various girlfriend subplots, but maybe this will be more done better?

How old are they, anyway? The kids seem about the same age.

How come?

Because he represents everything that political behind-the-scenes work is and none of what it could be. He's smart and tough and in it to win, and that's great, but there has been absolutely no indication that he wants to win because he actually thinks winning would make the world a better place. He wants to win for the sport of it. Have you ever heard him say word one about policy? I've listened, and I haven't.

I think he's a great character, and he's totally realistic, but people like that make me really sad.

I never hated him specifically, but he does represent something about politics (communications/image over policy, making people fake, etc) that I hate. (I might hate a real life Eli, actually.)

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel about him. I think he's an awesome character, but I'm not sure I'd want to know him in real life.

Actually...I think I do know him in real life, come to think of it! (And you do too.) And he's someone I respect and even admire, but feel ambivalent about as a person. So there we are.

I think I know who you're talking about and if I'm right, I don't know him very well but my primary impression is that he's the sort of person that I could never, ever imagine feeling relaxed around in a casual situation (like having a beer or whatever).

So much Eli! OMG, I am so excited that he's full-time now. And word on how the show depicts sex, I totally thought that too. I hope we get more Diane in future eps, but I loved her "wtf, am I the only grownup now?" comment.

ME TOO re Eli. I love watching him negotiate between Peter and Alicia.

More Diane is about the only thing this ep needed, yeah. but she did look and act amazing while she was there. Have you seen that bit on the s1 DVDs - in some commentary or something - where she's talking about how when she has small parts in an ep she makes sure the wardrobe department gets her just incredible outfits to wear? *g*

The Diane front is the only place where the show fell down last season (with a few exceptions), and I hope they remedy that this season. She is in danger of becoming irrelevant to the larger storylines, and that would be SAD.

I was so ready to see Sophia as the new villian for stalking Kalinda and messing her up until they actually teamed up. I think that was my favourite part.

And it was so Kalinda, too, because she was being so resourceful! Love.
