[yuletime!]

Dear Yuletide writer,
Thanks so much for writing a story for me! I am very excited to see what you come up with.  I have given you some ideas about what I like in each canon, but if you already have an idea, then as long as it doesn't hit up against my DNWs I look forward to it!  Write something you will have fun with.

If you're here browsing letters, I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] kathryne at AO3.

do not want

I do not want to read: rape; animal abuse or death; self-harm; kid!fic. I am okay with violence in service to the story; I am okay with canon-typical violence. I'm also not interested in complete AUs (ie, coffee-shop-type AUs). I do enjoy AUs where one thing in canon is changed and we explore the ramifications of it.

I’m not a big fan of the heteronormative assumption that there’s only one way to progress a relationship and anyone in a relationship must necessarily want co-habitation and homeownership and marriage and children. In fact, I’m really not interested in stories about child-rearing, though dealing with adult children already established in canon can be interesting.

do want

I love stories about women relying on each other. I like seeing moments in fic that give deeper meaning to moments we see on screen. I like porn; I like G-ratings; I like ratings in between. I strongly prefer more developed stories rather than shorter vignettes strung together on a theme.

I love complicated relationships between complicated women, where things aren't necessarily completely straightforward but that doesn't mean they're wrong.  I love power dynamics, and subverting them.

I like gen, but I also write and love everything right up to NC-17. I really enjoy power dynamics in bed, and rough sex that's either an expression of love or of... something darker. I also love laughter and silliness and exploration and snuggles! For contemporary canons and characters who would be into it, sex toys, strap-ons, lingerie etc - yes.

If you feel like going for some good old tropes, some of my favourites include: bedsharing; road trips; huddling for warmth; mutual pining that gets resolved.

Ted Lasso - Rebecca, Keeley

I would absolutely love a Rebecca/Keeley story here. Follow through on Keeley's constant flirting and how badly she fancies Rebecca!  Note: I would really rather not have a story where Keeley is cheating on Roy, so perhaps an AU in that respect - picking up after the gala, or a different take on their weekend in Liverpool?  Rebecca slowly becoming able to believe in Keeley's affirmations because they are so different from Rupert's?  The way they both heal each other, much like in the show, only with smooching?  Or maybe a look at what else the two of them could do together, as a truly unstoppable team?

If you want to write something smutty, Keeley canonically has a vibrator and loves lingerie, and I bet she has a whole trunk of toys and clothes. She's so much less inhibited than Rebecca, and I'd love to see Rebecca learning to have fun sex again, or maybe for the first time.

If you don't want to write that, I'd also love some Rebecca backstory - nothing too hopeless, if possible, but maybe some of the ways she survived Rupert (like the Christmas gift-giving she returns to with Ted), or how she finally brought herself to leave him?  This does not have to include Keeley. Please don't make Rupert a main character in the story, though - nothing from his POV and ideally not a HUGE amount of him on screen, as it were.

I would also rather not have a story where Rebecca feels hopeless: I'd like to celebrate her and at least have the possibility of good things on the horizon.

Also, I love London, so if you know the city and want to sneak in some love for it in the story, that would be fantastic.

Wicked - Schwartz/Holzman (Broadway Cast) RPF - Idina, Kristin

I remember the chenzel_love days back on Livejournal, but whether you do or not... join me in marvelling at how these two are STILL riDICulously in love?  Especially in the past several years, Kristin has seemed to get exponentially more emotional every time she and Idina are on stage together.  I would particularly love a story set now, considering what all that history feels like and how it affects them.  Whether they are getting together for the first time now or coming back together after a long time apart, what's changed for them?  Why DOES Kristin practically sob her way through "For Good" now?

I don't want A Pandemic Story, but something considering the way that returning to the stage after so many months away makes everything more heightened, or about how lockdown changed how much they missed each other, might be interesting.  Maybe they hadn't been speaking, but started texting or emailing or writing paper letters (epistolary fic is fun!), and it led to something new? I don't really care about either of their current partners, so disregard or ignore or handwave or whatever at will.

Wonder Woman (comics) - Diana, Barbara Ann Minerva
So much tragedy!  Friends to enemies - to lovers?  Enemies to lovers?  Dark mirrors!  Friends in that Paradise Island way, nudge nudge wink wink?

I love alllll of Wonder Woman, so truly do feel free to incorporate any era here, but one of the most influential on Diana and Barbara Ann is, obviously, the Rucka Rebirth run.  I would love to read something taking that into account - something set in either era, or in between, looking at their relationship and what they both want, expect, fear from it.

I do ship them, but a gen story is also entirely fine, and the same tension is always there - between Diana and her darker self, Barbara Ann and her better self; between Barbara Ann's academic interest in the Amazons and mythology and her soul-deep longing for the mythological wonders that Diana is proof of.

Hilariously, considering the above request, this is one of the posts that gives me the most feels about their relationship: I hope you're happy, my friend,.

I hope this gives you some ideas, and that you have fun writing.  I am looking forward to reading what you come up with and very excited to have a fic just for me.  Happy Yuletide!
