Am I the only one who thinks Gill retiring isn't the worst thing ever (for Gill, I mean, not for us as viewers of the show)? In addition to the trauma, her kid has now left the house, which is often another trigger for retirement. But anyway I agree they're all adorable and I can totally see Janet and Pete winding up dating for a bit.

I still want fic about Gill and the hunky sergeant, but now I see it starting with him going over to her house to apologize for his dad being such a dick.
