the Doctor himself doesn't seem to believe his own Mr. Powerful schtick? YES, I love it when this happens. River brings it out in him, kind of - maybe because he doesn't HAVE to show her that he knows everything, because she already knows that he knows everything AND she knows a little bit of everything herself... it just is such a delightful balance when they get it right.
